The 2021-2022 season marks her return to the Metropolitan Opera stage as Thibault in Sir David McVicar’s new production of Don Carlos, under the baton of Yannick Nézet-Séguin, and a reprisal of Barbarina in Le nozze di Figaro.
In the summer of 2022, Ms. Zhang makes a triumphant debut at the San Francisco Opera to star in their revival of Bright Sheng’s The Dream of the Red Chamber in the lead role of Dai Yu.
Following her recent debut at the Metropolitan Opera, highlights of Ms. Zhang's 2019-2020 performance season include continued collaborations at the Met in the role of Barbarina and in a concert program with fellow Lindemann Young Artists, as well as an appearance with the Philadelphia Orchestra.
